Gray's 100-word story for June 4, 2025
Gray wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on June 4, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.
Echoes of familiarity in the shape; all shapes are similar, each is unique. The I-Thing inhabits bird and stone man, atoms of water and oxygen. It swirls, fills spaces. Names are imaginary, the loss of this one changes nothing. The finger pointing at the moon is not the moon, the name of the man full of gravity who posed for the serious sculptor is not the man, no: The thing is this: The feeling in the bird. The feeling in the bird is buoyancy, the brain most believe too small for this feeling delighting in the absurd. Gravity is relative.
