Inge pushed her wispy winter wheat-colored hair out of her face as she turned away for the last time. “Sven, I must go!” she implored. “Just look at this view! How could you ask me to miss the once chance to see something beyond the yurt?” Tears streamed from her cornflower blue eyes. Ten whole years! Sven knew he had nothing to offer her. He knew she belonged beyond the confines of yurt life. Once she'd seen the coast, dotted with lush greens and glorious ships sailing for lands he'd never see. Someone had to stay and feed the yak.
