BoWoff's 100-word story for June 5, 2025
BoWoff wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on June 5, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.
I was once young. I was once the sea. I no longer like that life. One day I might return. When my father demands it. One day I’ll embrace what I ran from. Not today. Today I’m having funnel cake and using my legs to walk around. It’s my favorite. We never had funnel cake under the sea. It would be soggy. Here it’s glorious. My land man’s calling me. He also has legs. It’s sort of gross. And he’s a terrible swimmer. My father would never approve. Maybe I’ll bring him. He’ll drown, but that’s easier than breaking up.
