magisternihil's 100-word story for June 8, 2025

magisternihil wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on June 8, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

Uncle Albert was an eccentric, but you had to admire his dedication. He would bring home a new statue and go to the charity shops to find some item to go with it. It had taken five of us to move the piano. I never asked him where he got the statues. I had once found an old yearbook and realized they resembled former classmates of his. It was curious because he was always bullied at school, so I wasn’t sure why he wanted to remember them. And then I found the Medusa head in a box in the garage.
