They'd been sun-worshippers throughout their teen years, both of them grads of Green Springs, right on the coast of Biscayne Bay, prom king and queen, and onward together to law school. And then the first patch of actinic keratosis on Paul's face. And because they did everything together, by the time they saw the dermatologist there was a patch on her face, too. "I have to laugh," she said, "or I just won't be able to stop crying." She handed him the bag with the beard sketched on and opened the front door. "Now. Let's go take our engagement photos."
