Old Man Stewart had lived in this house for over fifty years. In all that time, he had made few friends among his neighbors. Instead, the majority of them avoided even walking in front of his house. Their children, on the other hand, saw his property as a twisted kind of challenge. They would dare each other to ring his doorbell and run away. They would tease his dog. Finally, he had enough. He collected a few of his relics from his bygone cosmetology career and displayed them prominently. A few disconcerting disembodied heads should keep those pesky kids away.
