Dylan knocked on the door and entered unbidden. “You wanted to see me, Auntie Joan?” Joan sighed and took her glasses off to rub her eyes. “Yes, come in, my boy. Sit.” “Is this about the window?” She sighed again. “The thing is, Dylan, we’re a thrift shop.” “Yes, but—“ She held up her hand. “I asked you to do a window that drew customers.” “And it—“ “We can’t go for the macabre, it’s just not—“ Dylan reached back and opened the office door. The shop was filled with customers. Joan gave a surprised laugh. “People never fail to surprise.”
