Hide's 100-word story for June 16, 2025
Hide wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on June 16, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.
It was a tale of two manic pixie horse boys with a song and a prayer. Scratch that, it’s a tale of two lovers protesting or panhandling or maybe a bit of both, neighing Auld Lang Syne for the sheeple to toss their coins in a repurposed dog bowl. Some people judge a grift horse by its mouth, say “two horses kissing? Neigh way, Jose, not in my city” (San Jose). Me? I say we need to be tolerant of the freaks. Wasn’t long ago us birdheads were seen as something to exterminate. And we was only askin’ for crumbs.
