Hide's 100-word story for June 19, 2025

Hide wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on June 19, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

“Bear with me honey, I know I’m looking a little grizzly but I just wanted some koalaty time together.” The note was scribbled on a tattered piece of paper tucked behind the picture frame. The police didn’t know what to make of it any more than they did the three bodies buried under the tree, each holding a teddy bear. This is because police are useless, but that’s a different story. The so-called “Teddy bear killer” went viral, with everyone either horrified and lining up to buy that company’s small brown bear. Marketing strategies have gone a little too far.
