Words echo through the corridors of the cathedral, bouncing from pillar to pillar, growing, collecting, building foundations and joining to form new shapes, new thoughts, new words. He sits, stretches his arms over his head, then down behind his back, hooking his hands together and lifting, the reassuring pops in his back sounding the starting pistol. Fingertips assaulting the keys, he lets the words flow freely, pouring onto paper with a fluidity that threatens to flood his workspace, trinkets and books and tea mugs at risk of saturation as he empties the ancient halls without restraint.
