Gray's 100-word story for June 24, 2025

Liberto used to draw. Started with anime, back in the nineties, saving pictures of Inuyasha off webpages with animated banners made by kids his age; probably dead now. The sites. Maybe the kids. Liked to draw characters running. His basement office is still full of comics, stashed in Rubbermaid bins marked 'PESTICIDES' or 'FERTILIZER.' The sketchbooks get an extra layer of security -- under a rug, under the bins, under a section of cement. Nothing new's been added to those since ninety-four. Must've been ten -- ninety-four, yeah. The man came with a job offer. Bullets at his back, now Liberto runs.
