thaopixelpoet's 100-word story for June 24, 2025

George froze. It looked like he was sprinting, but completely still. He felt like a wooden drawing mannequin, the type almost every artists studying anatomy would have on their table. George wanted to win this marathon. He had been practicing over a year for this. He thought he saw his wife in the crowd. He just didn't expect to see her there. Three minutes left. George needed to come to his senses. He crossed the line, showered in sweat. The organizers rewarded George with his milestone medal, engraving the words: "Pink Power Run marathon, remembering those who we have lost."
