The little village had been a place that barely felt the passage of time. Generations of families had lived side by side with very little upsetting the apple cart. Until old Colin Jones went off and got himself that American bride. She was half his age, and while some thought she brought new exciting energy to the village, once Colin passed away (somewhat mysteriously), and she sold all his property to the developers, things started changing. The houses huddled, hushed, in the mist. This ambush was going exactly as they had hoped; the apartments had no idea they were there.
