Hide's 100-word story for June 27, 2025

Laura didn’t think it would end like this. She catches her reflection in the mirror, before looking down at her bloody hands. Cliff’s body was still warm in the bed, throat slashed into the biggest smile he had ever given Laura, at least that she could remember. It was his own damn fault, anyways. He went after her, hollering, trying to bring her back. Threatening to hurt her was fine, but her sister? So she went back with him. Smiled, apologized, got into bed. Then she made sure he would never get the chance to stop her from leaving again.
