The Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, "Kintsugi", isn't meant for people like me because, for one, I'm not Japanese, and two, where do I even get the gold from when my face is not made from ceramic, but from dirt and mud? When I look into the mirror, all that emerges is crime and horror, slushed together to produce a putrid-scented bucket of goo, oozing out of my bloody cracking eyeballs, dripping down my high, hollowed cheek into a void of lifelong regrets and resentment. I try to hide them. God knows I tried. Time to work.
