Jackal's 100-word story for April 23, 2025

Jackal wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on April 23, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

One summer back in college, I visited my Aunt in Connecticut. I received a letter asking if I'd come to her Summer Festival. You should know that she's my mother's sister; we haven't spoken in years. Wary as I was, I decided it'd be nice to reconnect. The problem is that I can only remember one thing from the whole trip: a dark figure and women chanting something around me. Then the figure started to move towards me, and it got closer and closer until everything turned dark, and I was on the flight home. Can you help me, Mom?
