There wasn’t a cloud in the sky the day they decided to paint the houses rainbow. It was a swelteringly hot pride month, and the small town was buzzing with flies and gossip. Old Man Rutger passed away, and his son wasn’t coming to the funeral. Some bigshot artist who lived in NYC, and hadn’t seen his dad in 60something years. When they read the will, the Rutger donated all his money to the Queer Arts Alliance in our town. Something about finally making things right. His son said too little too late. At least the houses are pretty now.
