“Is that a sailboat over there?” Parker asked, slowly reeling in his line. The old man grunted. Parker looked at Debby and she gave him the “I’ll handle this” smile. “A bit shallow for sailing, isn’t it?” she ventured. “It’s a monument to stupidity,” said the old man. They thought that was it but then continued. “Years ago, a young buck told the town he was gonna sail the world. Made it that far. Ran aground.” “What happened to him?” asked Parker. The old man shrugged. “He runs a fishing charter now. Takes chatty tourists out to catch no fish.”
