That feeling of being afloat bobbing on the waves standing on a deck nothing between you and the endless depths but metal and fuel and expertise the wind cuts through you annoyed at your intrusion slipping around you like an errant hug on its way to somewhere far more important the land distant on the horizon waits to embrace you to feel your tread on its surface the rhythmical footfall that thrums with its heartbeat but until then the wind and water and metal wage war and you know it would be foolish to be anything other than an observer
