Jackal's 100-word story for July 6, 2025

Jackal wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on July 6, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

I thought long and hard on the best place to profess my love to Violet. I looked into buying the billboard outside her kitchen window but it was $2000 AND I had to get the sign printed myself. So I decided to put my artist skills to use. Spoiler alert though, you don’t paint naked chicks in intro2painting. Total bummer. Anyway, right across from where her car is, this building stands. It was absolutely terrifying leaving over the ledge to paint this, but I think it was worth it! Wait? How is she supposed to know it’s from me???? Fuck!
