Teresa curled up in her tiny, dark apartment overlooking a couple of red-bricked roofs leading to an open, vast, pastel-blue sea. She inhaled the scent of dust collecting on the wooden window frame, half-worn out by the salty winds like her ebony hair. "It could be so easy" Teresa thought, "to just walk out of this window. To fly towards the ocean and take a bath in the sun. To relish some good bruschetta before sucking down rigatoni arrabbiata with bold Pinot Noir." She wanted to live that life. But any life with sunlight and garlic was deadly to her.
