"Eyesore," Mae said, swiping sweat from her forehead with the back of her arm. "Doesn't matter. Between the surveillance from the HOA and the pigs, they'll find out who did it and get rid of it." Rick tilted his head at a forty-five-degree angle to look her in the face from his foot-and-a-half above. Planted his hands on his basketball shorts. "Are you human? Do you not get excited when something weird happens?" She shrugged, frowned. "Maybe I would, if it ever meant anything." That was when the next moon-like gray baby head erupted from the earth, three feet away.
