The boys were inseparable. Where you saw one, the others soon appeared, and it felt like it had always been that way. John had met Jeff in daycare at the Y. They were only 3, but they stood side by side at the duplo table and built side by side as if they'd always been there. Alex joined the duo 2 years later at the pool, when he impressed them both by diving headfirst from the diving board. And now, here they were, first time on the slopes, again following Alex's bravado. How would they fare on the black diamond?
