Jackal's 100-word story for July 14, 2025
Jackal wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on July 14, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.
Why can’t I see my face? I stare at myself in every reflection but somehow I can never see any details. I can feel them with my fingers. I have a mouth with medium plump lips, a thin skinny nose that’s a bit on the longer side but not too big, and then two eyes. I even have eyelashes and eyebrows above those eyes, nevertheless I’ve yet to see them for myself. What color are my eyes? What about my face? Do I have any birth marks or freckles? I yearn to know. I yearn to see my true self.
