From the sixth page of the Aspen Times: A petition for the word “Cowabunga” to be banned from the slopes has officially been acknowledged by the secretary to the mayor of Aspen. Karen Mcflaggerty, Christian by birth, annoying by choice, has headed the movement, stating that the word in question was offensive towards “anyone who cared about our bovine friends.” Cows everywhere have rejoiced. The petition has gathered 48 signatures so far. In the meantime, skiers and snowboarders who choose to partake in such colorful slang should get it out of their system early, just in case this goes anywhere.
