“What is happening here, Frank?” Mr. Putnam did not look pleased at all. Frank shrugged. “I’m still working it out, Sir. I think the apartments are too small and it’s creating an anomaly. They keep shifting.” “I paid you for an apartment building, Frank. Instead you give me…whatever this is?” Fury turned the man’s face the crimson of pressed cherries. “I can’t do anything about it. Every time they line up the whole row of them disappears.” He scowled, then smiled. “But new ones appear at the top?” “Yes, Sir.” Putnum’s eyes practically showed money symbols. “Excellent work, Frank.”
