Jackal's 100-word story for August 1, 2025
Jackal wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on August 1, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.
I've awoken on this bridge every morning since the accident. My therapist says its a normal reaction to the trauma I've experienced. My mother is two seconds away from tying me to the bed at night, and I just want to go back to being normal. Before the bridge, before.... If I'm being honest, I'm nervous. I've been safe so far, but how many more times until something happens? How many more times before I don't stop myself at the railing? How many more times before I can wake up in my own bed again? I can't live like this.
