She says her name but I immediately forget it. My mind feels as if it is drifting at sea, blurred thoughts rising and falling on gentle swells as my breathing slows. You do not hope to meet one of the Hidden Women of Farkiri. If you should, they say you will remember it for the rest of your life. Sometimes the rest of your life is not very long, having met one of them. I struggle to open my eyes. I need to stay awake. I need to remember. That they are hidden does not mean that they are hiding.
