joeislove's 100-word story for August 5, 2025

My grandma would've never stood for this. Perfectly good clothespins left to rust and rot on the line. She'd've spotted those out the kitchen window and sent me with a basket to collect them and bring them inside. I bet it was the same basket of clothespins she'd had her whole life. Probably bought out of the 1931 Sears & Roebuck catalog or something. I can hear her now: "Six dozen for twenty-five cents, and you just can't find a deal like that nowadays, so don't go wasting my clothespins!" Of all the ones who've gone before, I miss her most.
