You can see for miles up here. Literally miles. About 7 miles, in fact. That's how far the horizon is over the open water from this little widow's walk. I'm not a widow, they just call it that. I've never even been married. And if my wife had died, I think that's called a widower, not a widow, isn't it? I never heard of a widower's walk, have you? Anyway, it's not a bad job. I just sit up there most of the day and watch for the boats so I can call Jimmy down to the tug boat dispatch.
