JKWriter wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on August 8, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

Molly watched the people walking across the field and wondered why on earth anyone would want to walk that close to where Rupert was wading in the water. Soon their heads disappeared as they headed down the embankment toward the bubbly little creek. A few moments passed and then suddenly there was the sound of splashing water and screams. Then in the distance the couple came running back up the hill with Rupert clamoring after them. "Humans really are stupid," Molly thought to herself as she quietly observed the melee while chewing her cud at the top of the hill.
