JKWriter's 100-word story for August 10, 2025
JKWriter wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on August 10, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.
"Ten o'clock and all's well!" Tomok called out as he rode through town. The world's lights were out and most townsfolk were already sleeping, but it didn't matter. What mattered was the continuous repetition of his feet on the pedals. If he were to stop then all time would stand still, and the slumbering souls of this weary place would never again see the light of day. It was only because of the perpetual ride of that bike that another morning would come. It was not a job he had asked for or wanted, but it was his responsibility nonetheless.
