joeislove wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on August 11, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

I don't like wasting paper cups at the coffee place by me, but I don't usually have time to wait for my coffee machine to warm up and brew coffee (it's about 15 years old, but I refuse to replace until it dies its final death). The coffee shop owner told me it's okay for me to bring my own mug. She even said that since their paper cups actually cost more then the coffee itself, she'd give me the coffee for half price. I don't know why she does it, but I'm not the type to refuse a deal.
