JKWriter's 100-word story for August 12, 2025
JKWriter wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on August 12, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.
Jerry the headless jogger was up to his usual tricks this fine, foggy morning. He took the stairs two-by-two...up and down, down and up...over and over again along the vacant streets of the abandoned city that his ghost haunted. Being headless, he rarely seemed to notice that he was all on his own, and if it weren't for the occasional living numpty that wandered into this dead zone he'd never bump into anyone at all. Of course, it's easy to bump into living souls when one can't see them and even better when one can't hear their screams.
