Summers in the Netherlands are not your typical sunny ice cream, blue snorkeling waters, and sandy beaches. It’s quite the opposite. That’s why I moved here six years ago. On a cold summer morning of only 59F, I strolled the foggy stairs with leaps of joy in my every step. The clear air feels like a puncturing sword into my lungs, making me alive. The dark, gloomy clouds cozies me, wrapping my mind like a cool black licorice candy would. The teen boy walking in front of me turns around several times already. Then, he screams: “DON’T KILL ME SIR!!!”
