When the fog lifted, I was just left feeling all squibbly. Woggly, kind of, you know? My eyes crossed, trying to force themselves closed, but I forced them open again, my face oscillating between a grimace and a scowl. I trudged forward through the surrealist nightmare I now found seeping into my field of awareness. I needed to be asleep more than I had ever needed anything. Visions of diving headfirst over the bridge railing intruded. Whispers and taunts flickered through my head. I ignored them, like I had ignored Fat Johnny's advice to take it easy with this batch.
