Dust She always smelled of dust and Listerine and naphthalene The lines on her knuckles were roadmaps to history her scars bore a testament to unrivaled mystery Tea stains on the sleeve of her cardi reminders of all who had once used my chair and before we could even start she put doilies on tables and flowers in our hair The blanket draped lazily and her memory dripped hazily she slurped from her china tea cup and then coughed 'I'll tell you a tale child words seized from the pure wild constructed from nothing but whispers so soft and dust.'
