magisternihil's 100-word story for August 18, 2025

magisternihil wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on August 18, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

No one talks about the fact that while a house did fall in Oz and take out a witch, houses fell elsewhere. It was a hell of a storm, after all, to breach worlds like that. After the shock passed the top brass in the company decided it didn't need to be removed. People saw it and asked questions, which led to interest. Free publicity. Nobody asked the Millers whether they wanted to stay. They weren't happy at first, but then they realized the commute was much better, and now their garden gets more sun, so things aren't that bad.
