Ever the stubborn old coot, Old Man Stodgeworth refused to move out, no matter how much money the city offered him, and if that old codger had anything, it was good lawyers. The legal battle raged for years, and the city finally decided they might just have to wait for him to die. But when he hit his 107th birthday, they decided the old bastard might just be immortal. And, well, hospitals have to be built, don't they? They'd found a loophole, you see. They couldn't demolish the house, or move it, but they could lift it. And build underneath.
