JKWriter's 100-word story for August 26, 2025
JKWriter wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on August 26, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.
The nothingness was even more palpable than the deafening silence that permeated the blinding foggy vastness. Where life once teemed all around there was now only stillness and empty spaces. Where foot prints once tread across the expansive lands there was now only whispers as the winds had swept them away. There was nothing green or growing...no people or animals. There were no birds or reptiles...fish or whales. There was nothing left but the ardent hint of what might have been. It was once thought that this was the world's end...it wasn't...just another civilization gone again.
