JKWriter wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on August 27, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

"ARGH!!!" Ol' Crazy Eyes growled loudly, but not loudly enough. The Mermaids and Mermen had invaded their ship and we're flailing about singing the songs of their people and tossing crew members over the side of their ship. While these Pirates' ancestors had roamed the seven seas thousands of years before them, this failing generation of mateys were being led by AI and nothing else. In fact, there were only a handful of crews left on even two of the seven seas. Ol' Crazy Eyes' ship was about to meet the fates of others...lying below in the briny blue.
