There’s a deadness in his limbs that comes over Kieran whenever music starts playing, like not just his brain but his entire body becomes conscious of anyone watching. A tap of his foot. A bob of his head. This is all he usually allows. Just enough of a release of the feeling but nothing too showy. But something came over him when Tika took him to the club that night. It was as if all of the whirling, pulsing maelstrom of celebration inside of him would no longer be contained. His feet found the floor and he found ecstatic release.
