“That one’s about ready to come up,” said Maude. Her granddaughter had come to her terrified a man had fallen from a plane. “So…so he’s not dead?” whimpered the child. “Hush, no child, we just have to plant them every once in a while to rejuvenate the soil.” Maude showed her a box filled with pocket watches, clove cigarettes, and avocado pits. The ground erupted and Maude pointed. A man pulled himself up, looked around with confusion. “Coffee?” he asked. Maude pointed west. The man nodded and wandered off. “Going to be a bumper crop this year,” said Maude.
