joeislove wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on September 3, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

Nobody knew where he came from. He just drifted into camp one day and set up shop. Biggest man I'd ever seen. Must have been seven feet tall if he was an inch. He had this great big wagon pulled by a team of oxen. Not much in the way of personal effects that we ever saw. But it was always stacked high with bales of green coffee beans. He'd start roasting at night. By morning there'd be a line of old drunks waiting for coffee. I never knew his name. But I think about his coffee to this day.
