JKWriter's 100-word story for September 4, 2025

JKWriter wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on September 4, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

The other kids' laughter rang through the woods, but for Bobby...time stood still and silent as he leaned over an old mitt and faded, dirty baseball that were sitting inside the hollowed log. He reached in and removed them where he discovered a stack of old baseball cards inside a plastic baggie. As he lifted the treasure out, he regrettably discovered the cards were fused together in the unsealable old-fashioned bag. Sighing in defeat, he dropped them back into the hollow. As he did, he saw that the ball had rolled slightly in the glove exposing a famous signature!
