This baseball probably has an interesting story. Everything in this house probably does, if I'm honest. There's enough dust, enough dark crannies and crevices, enough creaks and groans from the old house to tell a lifetime's worth of stories--and that's just the objects I recognize. I've long since lost interest in any specific thing in here, though. No, the reason I'm still looking at this baseball is that there's a speck of actual light on it. Real light, from outside the house. I want to enjoy it before I turn around and see whether what's outside is even worse.
