They’re going to tear it down. That’s what the man said when he walked through with the group. “Decrepit to the core. Nothing worth saving. Too damaged by age.” Henry had tried. He really had. But you try pushing a broom when your hands pass through solid material. You try dusting when dust passes right through you. And when the hole appeared in the roof, what was he supposed to do? He wondered what would become of him. He was part of the house now. Would he be torn apart, too? Nothing to do but wait, now. Wait and wail.
