magisternihil's 100-word story for September 11, 2025

Amber’s grandmother drove a car just like that. It was a fleeting memory that struck her like a snapped rubber band as they walked by the junkyard. When she went inside, talked her way past the grubby man at the counter, and laid her hands on the car, she was certain that not only was she right, but it was also THE actual car. Life rarely gives you these moments of realized memory, these times when Deja vu morphs into a solid line to when. There was still the bundle of cotton in the dash. It was just too much.
