joeislove's 100-word story for September 21, 2025

They won't find me here. I hope. I got a job on a boat, taking slack-jawed tourists right up to the fjords. I just drive the boat, so I don't have to talk to them. Not that anyone would remember my face; I paid for it to be unremarkable...and unrecognizable from the face the world is looking for. It's not a bad life. Fresh air, not too hard, and the skipper's wife always sends lunch for everyone. They won't find me. I hope they don't. I don't know if I can disappear again. And I'm starting to like lutefisk.
