magisternihil's 100-word story for September 29, 2025

magisternihil wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on September 29, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

“So, whatever this kid paints comes to life later? How is that possible?” Ryan pulled the truck into a spot in front of what had become known around town as Cube-Head Dog Lady. He had actually seen this one and would be grateful to see it gone. “No one knows. Hell, the kid didn’t even know. He was just being a punk,” said Mark. He grabbed the scrubber and they set to work. They had learned early on that paining over them didn’t work, it just obscured them. As the image faded Ryan sighed with relief. One less walking nightmare.
